iTunes 11 – yeah ok, but I’m still not going to use it.
So Apple have released iTunes 11, which to be honest looks great. But hasn’t interested me in downloading it yet.
What’s changed?
New icon.
Hidden sidebar
Universal Searching
Expanded View of albums instead of that other thing
MiniPlayer got more junk in the trunk
Pausing on one device, will remain when you view it on another. Great… Continue reading
General Motors will now include Siri integration
Okay so, there’s a few ads going around with the Ford Focus showing off the voice recognition. Basically you speak “play bob marley” and it’ll play bob marley music.
Well GM (General Motors) have announced they will start shipping the latest models with Siri integration for iPhone. Hooray for iPhone users. For the moment I think it’ll only do the basic iPod-y features… Play, Stop, Volumne Up/Down. But it… Continue reading
Official Gmail app for iPhone & iPad

Well, it’s about time!
It’s a HTML5 based app, you can tell the difference by the black background on the app icon. There’s a menu option that brings up the usual sidebar with all you’re inbox, labels and other goodies. Composing emails now has attachments!
The iPad layout is much better, gives you more room to see you’re labels, inbox and… Continue reading
iPhone4 speaker not working
Finally it happened to me.
I dropped my iPhone in the toilet, but luckily it didn’t get too wet. The first thing I noticed was that the speaker wasn’t working any more. Anytime someone called me I couldn’t hear them, but they could hear me.
There’s one simple step. Make sure there’s nothing plugged into the headphone jack and try adjusting the volume. If it has (headphones) it… Continue reading
iPad 3 release date 7th March 2012
Okay, so it’s been confirmed there’s an iPad event in San Francisco on 7th March. This has got a lot of people taking/confirming rumors that the iPad 3 would come out early March. Apple quoted “something you really have to see. And touch”, so it’s either the new iPad 3 or something totally random! Pretty sure it’s the new iPad tho.
For those in the… Continue reading
Can’t drag and drop files in iTunes 10
This problem has been floating around for a few users, who have iPhone4/4s with iTunes 10.5.
Came up on my previous blog post about creating custom ringtones where users were unable to drag/drop files into the iTunes Library – thanks MikeM for bringing it up! (Read the discussion here)
The short term fix is to manually add the files to Library.
Click on File, select Add File… Continue reading
IMPORTANT! Before upgrading to iOS5 – 4 tips to avoid loosing all your data
I’ve had a few friends loose all their data from “quickly” upgrading to iOS5. So please make sure of the following.

1. Time – It can take a few hours, depending on the size of your phone (apps, music, etc). So do not rush, this is a smart phone you’re upgrading… contacts, messages, photos… pretty much… Continue reading
iOS5 Features for iPhone
Okay this is a wrap of all the features I’ve come across in iOS5 using my iPhone4. I haven’t covered all the features – there are just too many. So these are some that I quiet like, and can see other users actually using them. No no real particular order…
The biggest one, or my favourite is the new notifications. A leaf out of Android and iPhone seems so… Continue reading
iOS5 create custom ringtone for iPhone
Okay so I’ve update my iPhone4 to iOS5 one of the first things I did was see if my custom ring tones we’re working. Unfortunately only 1 of 3 started working, I think it has something to do with the encoding. Anyway! Let’s get into it… here’s how you create your own custom ring tones.
Things you need:
1. iPhone (duh)
2. iTunes installed on you’re computer
3… Continue reading
